There is a lot happening in the Chequamegon Bay area at the end of January, but a true treat will be TrueGrass at the South Shore Brewery & Taphouse in Washburn on Saturday, January 31st from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Come raise a wrist to the Northern Lights and enjoy some live music in the cozy setting of the Washburn Taphouse, where people come together to sample South Shore beer on tap, talk beer smack with the staff, and enjoy the local scene. Members of TrueGrass have performed regionally, nationally and internationally and are widely recognized for their musicianship, innovative arrangements, and carefully arranged vocal harmonies. So, come have a beer with us and celebrate Wisconsin winter! TrueGrass specializes in reviving music of the old-time masters, adapting modern material to the bluegrass idiom, and creating original songs and new tunes in the traditional string band style, TrueGrass features Tom Draughon on guitar and old-time banjo, Bruce Qualey on bass, Jed Malischke on bluegrass banjo and resophonic guitar, Carol McDowall on fiddle, and all contribute vocals.
