​The Wisconsin Canoe Heritage Museum in Spooner (312 N Front St) will be celebrating Wisconsin Canoe Heritage Day on Saturday May 24 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, and TrueGrass will be there. This free event marks the season opening of the museum and includes the annual Canoe & Wooden Boat Show as well as live music and food and beverage outdoors in the beer garden. TrueGrass will be sharing the back porch stage with Les Fils du Voyageur. Come and peruse all the classic canoes exhibited at the show and then stop by the beer garden for some lunch and raise a wrist to the start of summer and outdoor live music (10:45 Les Fils du Voyageur, 11:45 TrueGrass, 1:00 Les Fils du Voyageur, 2:00 TrueGrass).

Les Fils du Voyageur brings the fur trade era to life through songs of the voyageurs. Performed a capella in five part harmony, and portrayed in authentic period costume, Les Fils du Voyageur present an extensive collection of paddling, working and playing songs that paint an exciting historical overview of the life and times of a voyageur.

“Cabana BBQ Wednesdays” are back at The Sawmill Saloon in Seeley this summer, and TrueGrass will be performing for this weekly event on June 18 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. It will all be outdoors: on the back deck next to the cabana bar, in the backyard next to the barbecue chicken and burgers on the grill,  and on the outdoor stage overlooking the rustic, woodsy setting. Admission is free with food and beverage specials available each week. Come enjoy a barbecue dinner, your favorite beverage, and the music and fun of TrueGrass live in the great Wisconsin north woods.

It will be a fiddler’s feast of fun with a full day of bluegrass, old-time stringband, and Americana music and dance on the menu. Northwest Wisconsin’s TrueGrass Band is teaming up with WOJB Radio and Superior Tech Services to bring FiddleFest 2025 to the Sawmill Saloon in Seeley, Wisconsin, from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Saturday April 5th. In this edition of what has become an annual event, WOJB Radio MC Jeff Jones will host The TrueGrass Four, Annie & The Oakleys, The Old 13 String Bandits, Four Mile Portage, Kim Ritchie & Squirrel Cage, The Northwoods Strings, plus special guest dance callers Wade Pearson and Tom Maloney, guitarist Stan Nosbush and WOJB Radio Host Jeff Jones as our Master of Ceremonies.
 
There will be seven hours of stage performances in the Sawmill Theater with sound provided by Superior Tech Services. The upstairs dance hall will feature old-time dances with all the dances taught and called. The Moose Lips coffee shop will host intimate acoustic concerts. And you can bring your instrument and join in the informal jam sessions in the lobby while you enjoy the food and beverage specials from the restaurant. This all day and evening event will all be at the Sawmill Saloon on Highway 63 just north of Hayward (13350 Town Hall Rd 54843). The Česká Opera House in Haugen (320 W 3rd St) will be hosting a Saint Patrick’s Day concert featuring TrueGrass on Sunday March 16th starting at 2:00 pm. This four piece stringband will be donning their green and polishing up their Irish credentials to get ready for a fun afternoon of music at this unique venue in Haugen. The Ceska Opera House (320 W 3rd St) is a historic performance and event venue operated by the Česká Opera Foundation, a non-profit preserving the history and heritage of Haugen and the surrounding area. On Saturday October 19th TrueGrass will be doing their thing at the new Harvest Fest in Hodgkins Park in Ashland, Wisconsin. They will be featured on stage from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, along with several other music groups that will be performing throughout the day. Live music, local artisans, harvest demonstrations, local farm vendors, food trucks, beer garden, games, and pumpkins will all be part of this first annual event from the City of Ashland. It all takes place in Hodkins Park from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm on Saturday October 19, 2024.

On Saturday July 27th the TrueGrass Trio (now a quartet) will be doing their thing at the Iron River Lions Blueberry Festival in Iron River, Wisconsin, where they will be featured on the main stage from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. This is the 60th year for the Blueberry Festival in Iron River, and there will be two full days full of activities with a parade, contests, carnival rides, shopping, fun, food, and more. Fiddle Fest 2024 is an early bird this year!  Why wait until spring to have this much fun? Saturday January 6, 2024  from 2pm to 8pm at The Sawmill Saloon in Seeley WI. ​This will be a fiddler’s feast of fun, served up with bluegrass, old-time stringband, Celtic and Americana music on the menu.

In this edition of what has become an annual event, all the musicians will be from Northwest Wisconsin.
The TrueGrass Trio consists of musicians Bruce Qualey (Cable), Tom Draughon (Ashland), and Jed Malischke (Spooner). They will be performing along with Annie & The Oakleys (Hayward), Carol McDowall & Second Wind Stringband (Trego)), Devin Thunhorst & The Old 13 String Bandits (Port Wing), Kim Ritchie & Squirrel Cage (Rice Lake), and the Blue Hills Travelers (Glen Flora). Plus their special guests Allison Jonjak, Bentley Brehm, Christina & Scott McLewin, and the Northwoods Strings.
 
Stage performances, old-time dances (with dances taught and called), intimate coffeeshop concerts, informal jam sessions, plus food and beverage specials are all expected to be part of this all day and evening event at the Sawmill Saloon in Seeley on January 6th. We are extremely excited to be added to the 2021 lineup for the Minnesota Bluegrass August Festival on August 5-8 at El Rancho Manana near St Cloud. This is the premier bluegrass festival in the Upper Midwest, nominated five times as the IBMA Event of the Year. It’s a four day event featuring some of the nation’s most noted bluegrass bands and musicians with stage shows, workshops, dances, jam sessions, and more. The TrueGrass Trio will be there Friday, Saturday, and Sunday doing workshops, a couple of jam with the band sessions, and a main stage set on Friday afternoon at 4:00 PM.
